Kalorikoll Privacy Policy
Kalorikoll is a local-first app for calories, food logging, weight and nutrition goals. The app requires no account and has no server of its own.
Data stored locally
The app may store the following data on your phone:
- food diary, meals and logged foods
- profile details such as sex, age, height, weight, activity level, goal direction, weight tracking and optional BMI display
- weight logs and nutrition goals
- favourites and recently used foods
- custom foods, custom recipes, recipe ingredients and calculated serving sizes
- foods and serving sizes retrieved through Open Food Facts when you choose to search online
This data is used to display summaries, history, charts, calculated goals, BMI if enabled, exports and backups.
Built-in food data
Kalorikoll works offline with locally bundled food data from the Swedish Food Agency (Sweden), Matvaretabellen (Norway), Fineli (Finland), FCDB (Denmark), CoFID (UK), and an Open Food Facts subset containing products from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and the UK. These data sources are included with the app and do not require your personal information to be sent anywhere.
Network access and external sources
The app has internet permission for Open Food Facts searches. If you choose to search online, your search terms or barcode are sent to Open Food Facts to find food information.
The app does not send your food diary, profile, weight logs, goals, custom foods or recipes to any server of its own.
Export, backup and deletion
An export is only created when you choose to export. It is saved to the location you select in Android's system dialog and contains CSV files, a short information file and a JSON backup that can be imported into the app again.
A backup is only imported when you select a backup file. Importing replaces the app's existing personal data with the contents of that file.
Android Backup is enabled for the app. This means Android's system backup may back up and restore app data according to your device and Google Account settings.
You can delete personal data in the app under Settings > Data and privacy. You can also delete the food log and/or weight log for an individual day from the history.
Sources
The app uses food data from the Swedish Food Agency, Matvaretabellen, Fineli, FCDB, CoFID and Open Food Facts. Open Food Facts is used both as a bundled data source and as an optional external online source.
